Festive Fall Weekend

There was no denying what time of year it was this weekend and it was great. Mr. Wonderful & I took my two nieces trick-or-treating Friday night, went to a beautiful wedding on Saturday afternoon, then popped into Turtle’s crazy-ass birthday costume party later that night. Despite the jam packed agenda, we managed to get home around 10PM on Saturday, I kid you not. That’s sad. I feel O-L-D. It might have helped to plan ahead a little better, which I’m typically good at. Not this time. Note to self: If you plan on having a big day, don’t agree to babysit for an energetic 7-year old and her sick baby sister the night before. Also, if you’re invited to a costume party…wear a damn costume!
I forgot how much I love Halloween and costume parties. Since I knew we had a wedding this weekend I didn’t think we’d make it to the costume party very early and therefore, did not even consider getting a costume.
As it turned out, we left the wedding earlier than planned and was one of the first to arrive and few to be in normal clothes at the costume party. Since the girls had kept us up for most of the previous night, we were dead tired. And dead tiredness + lots of reception food + a few party drinks = an early night.
Oh well. It was fun but I’ll know better next time.

Mr. Wonderful’s Grandma sent us our own box of treats! How fun!

Pumpkin Centerpiece - so cute!

Gotta love a Fall wedding
