Kaizen Chaos

I went dress shopping for the first time last night and today I ordered my dress! When I first got there I really wasn’t in the mood to squeeze myself into ill-fitting dresses and walk out in the middle of the store to model in front of a big ass mirror. But, luckily I brought my friend Ney-Ney who is all about weddings. Her excitment really helped me enjoy what might have been an otherwise uncomfortable trip.

Why you ask? Well, for starters it never occurred to me that I was going to have to get naked in front of two strangers working at the bridal shop who had to help me in and out of dresses. And let’s just say I didn’t select my prettiest bra and panty set that morning. Oh no, I was extremely tired and didn’t think about what my plans were after work so I grabbed some random, old, mismatched pieces. One of which included a thong. And there was no way to hide it in the dressing room. Gross.

Then, I didn’t think to bring nylons so I marched out in these beautiful gowns wearing black trouser socks. Nice. I sure as hell wasn’t going barefoot because it’s be quite some time since my last pedicure. Grrr. I am SO not high maintenance but I should really consider making more of an effort for days like that.

Oh yeah, they hollered my bra size and measurements out in the open for the entire store to hear. Luckily there were only a few people there I think. I didn’t bother to look around and be embarrassed. I figured, who the hell cares. What are ya gonna do about it?

Despite those uncomfortable things, the rest of the evening was fun and productive. Ney-Ney loved picking out veils and headpieces for me to model with each dress to complete the look, which is something I didn’t think about. She helped me pick different styles to try and helped me narrow it down to the perfect dress for me. I would LOVE to post a photo and show it off but I don’t want Mr. Wonderful lurking and seeing it!
