I read this article about interest only Mortgages and thought I’d share my thoughts. Typically, I would never, never, NEVER encourage an interest only mortgage. It’s about like renting since you are not decreasing your principal amount and therefore not increasing equity. Not to mention it’s dangerous when you’re in a volatile market. When property values are plummeting like they have been lately you could decide to sell your home and find that it appraises significantly lower than it did when you purchased it.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A PAID ADVERTISMENT
Last summer I was at a local dog show event and I met a rep for Nutro Dog Food. I had been feeding the boys Science Diet but heard that Nutro guarantees some of their food products will help reduce shedding and improve the condition of their skin. I talked a bit with the rep and he gave me some samples.

One of Mr. Wonderful’s pet peeves is a table full of stuff. Usually it is my fault – my giant purse, keys, cell phone, camera, papers, folders, crafts, etc. that quickly piles up. Sometimes it is his stuff – his personal cell phone, his work cell phone, his personal laptop, his work laptop, his iPod, etc.
We try to keep things cleaned up and put away but it’s tough to organize all our techie stuff when they all need to be charged. I learned about Vat19.com’s Charger Station and that looks like something he would really like. It appears to be quite handy and has a sleek design that hides the cords!!
Note to self: Mark that down for gift ideas.

Fun, Wedding - No Comments » - Posted on February, 19 at 6:41 am
I’ve mentioned before that Mr. W. and I are trying to make our reception as fun and entertaining as possible. That means we will likely be changing a couple of the traditional things. For example, we agreed we would probably not be doing a garter and bouquet toss because not many people seem to be interested at other weddings we’ve attended. And in lieu of the wedding party dance where in our case the two people paired up barely know each other, I am really pushing for a group of our friends (wedding party & others) to learn the Thriller dance. How fun would that be?!
I was a huge Michael Jackson fan when Thriller came out. I was about 5 years old and it was my absolute favorite video, even though at the time it scared the **** out of me. Not to mention it is the video’s 25th anniversary this year – AND – our wedding is the day after Halloween. Hello! Sounds like a plan to me, right?!
The other night a drunken Turtle told me she knew the dance and would teach us. She seemed very excited. Now the sober Turtle is trying to back out of it. Uh uh. No way sister. I’m gonna hold you to this one. Even if it ends up being just me & Mr. W. out there. (HOPEFULLY that doesn’t happen, it just wouldn’t have the same effect!)

I’ve never really dreamed of a frilly white wedding. Nope. I’ve dreamed of something crazy and fantastic, outlandish and unique. Mr. Wonderful on the other hand is pretty traditional so we’re making some compromises.
One idea is to have a fun dance with my Uncle since my Dad won’t be there. (Don’t ask.) The idea is that he won’t know that it’s a fun dance, so it will be a surprise. Let me back up a bit… my Uncle got married in the late 80s and I was about 10 years old. Neon colors were the trend. (I swear!) I wore a black & white dress with neon green & pink hearts and I wore matching (I thought) neon green ankle socks.
My family will never let me forget those socks. They took photos of me dancing to ‘The Twist’ at his reception. Grandma has the family portrait from the wedding displayed as you walk in the door and when you look at it your eyes can’t help but gravitate to my blinding green feet.
My idea is to get some crazy green socks to wear at my reception when I dance with my Uncle. AND, lol, I’ve got another “twist” planned. I will have the DJ announce that I am requesting a dance with my Uncle that reminded me of dancing with him at his reception. Instead of playing the traditional Chubby Checker version of The Twist, I want to use the 80s version by the Fat Boys. It starts off with Chubby Checker than cuts to a rap part, then back to the original version, and so on. Hilarious! I’m sure my Uncle will love it.
Now I’ve got to find the perfect neon green socks or knee high Tights. I originally wanted to get exact replicas, but since I’ve been doing some searching I really like the neon green knee highs with black stripes. Another little twist, if you will.
Yes, I’m a little odd. But I sure have fun.
